Nigeria to Vaccinate 25m People Against Polio
The World Health Organization (WHO) will support the Nigerian government to launch a mass vaccination campaign to prevent the spread of yellow fever in the country.
The World Health Organization said that this will be the largest yellow fever vaccination drive in the history of Nigeria as more than 25 million people will be vaccinated throughout 2018 in the planned campaign.
WHO said that this aim is to eliminate yellow fever epidemics globally by 2026. The preventive campaign it said, will use vaccines funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and will be supported by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
