Anxiety is very common in today’s stressed out society. We have so much to deal with, from jobs to kids and social media angst that it is hardly surprising that many people, the younger generation in particular, are afflicted with varying degrees of anxiety at some point in their life.

The problem with anxiety is that it affects every part of your life. Being anxious all the time is stressful, as you are constantly waiting for something bad to happen. Anxiety disorders can turn a sociable person into a recluse and make it impossible to do ordinary things such as shopping or talking to strangers. Hot water is immensely soothing and if anxiety is threatening to ruin your day, run a hot bath and add a few drops of lavender oil and lie back in the soothing water for half an hour. To make the experience even more beneficial, add some essential oils to a room diffuser in the bathroom and burn a few aromatherapy candles.

There are many ways to use aromatherapy oils, but it is worth taking advice from a qualified aromatherapist first. Some oils are not recommended under certain circumstances, for example, pregnancy, so be careful when experimenting with aromatherapy at home.
