Tip 1:

Defend your hair from sun, rains and wind. Long exposures to excessive sun, dirt, heat, pollution, rain water etc. adds to our already existing hair woes. Hence, cover your hair with an umbrella, a hat or a dupatta to protect it from harsh weather conditions.

Tip 2:

Wet hair is very brittle and tends to break easily. When wet the roots and shaft of your hair is more apt to damage than the rest of the time. Further, don’t be too ruthless when shampooing as breakage begins there. And most importantly avoid brushing your hair instantly after a shower. If you’ve to, then use a shower comb instead.

Tip 3:

It’s good to use a moisturizing conditioner each time you wash your hair. Never walk out a shower without it. Skipping this will make your hair frizzy.

Tip 4:

Conditioners are meant for shaft and not for the scalp. So apply it about 2 inches away from your scalp. Actually too much of conditioner on the scalp will only make your scalp extremely oily. So avoid using it on your scalp.

Tip 5:

Use a shampoo and a conditioner from the same brand as they will have the same formulation. It will give you better results.

Tip 6:

Avoid using heat on your hair as much as you can as it reduces the moisture content from hairs making it dry and frizzy. And you know what excessive use of heat can also burn your hair. So use hair styling tools only if necessary and make sure to use a hair protectant before applying heat to the hair!

Tip 7:

Avoid using extremely tight hair ties. Choose scrunchies with cloth around them, instead.

Tip 8:

Before you go to bed at night, loosely braid your hair to avoid frizzy hair in the morning, a side braid is better option.

Tip 9:

Avoid using cotton covers in your pillows as they are quite rough fabrics that can lead to hair breakage. Use satin pillow covers instead.

Tip 10:

When drying wet hair, always pat dry instead of rubbing. This will prevent hair breakage and hair fall.

Tip 11:

Oil your hair as often as you can and use a gentle shampoo to wash off the oil.

Tip 12:

Use hair masks according to your hair type to eliminate your hair problem.

Tip 13:

Keep away from teasing your hair; even if it gives a lot of volume, it spoils the hair texture.

Tip 14:

Try to wash your hair with cold water as hot water will affect your hair the same way as other heat styling methods do. By cold water we mean water at room temperature.

Tip 15:

A clarifying shampoo once in a month is a good idea. This eradicates the trouble of product build up due which the shampoo and conditioners tend to lose efficiency.

Tip 16:

Brushing, this is good way to boost the luster of your hair. Brushing spreads the natural oils through the length of your hair. But make sure to not over do this. And do not use plastic brushes as they cause breakage.
